Linda Brown (right), Physical Therapist in CP Rochester’s Augustin Children’s Center, works with Wyatt in a motorized pediatric stander designed by a team of engineering students from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The stander allows a child who is unable to stand on his or her own to be supported in a standing position and to access a panel of switches to ‘drive’ the stander. This technology enables a tremendous amount of freedom for children and allows them to interact independently with their peers.
