Jason Runs – San Francisco
If you’ve been following my posts, you’re well aware that I’m running the NYC Marathon this year and fundraising for CP Rochester in Rochester, NY in memory of my mom. Which begs the question, “How is San Francisco relevant to this effort?” Honestly? It isn’t. At least not directly, anyway.
The story goes like this: I was recently in San Francisco visiting my girlfriend when I had the idea to get some footage of me running by one or two San Francisco landmarks and post it to Facebook. Simple, right? You’d think, anyway. Well, not surprisingly, while I was running, my Mom kept creeping into my thoughts. This is typical. Every time I lace up my shoes, I think of what she might say to me as I get ready. Or when I finished, how she would ask me sincerely, “How did it go?” Before you get the idea that I’m warming up to a grand conclusion, I’m not. There isn’t a hidden meaning tucked away in the Painted Ladies and no grand epiphany atop the Golden Gate. So, why make this video?
My best answer is this: wherever I am, my Mom is always with me and will be until I’ve drawn my last breath.
I miss you and love you very much, Mama.
Your baby boy,
Jason
